On a cold wintery day, in colonial Boston, Benjamin Franklin was born on the 17th of January in the brand new year of 1706. There were 17 children, but Franklin himself, was the eighth of ten offspring within the second marriage for Josiah and his wife Abiah.
His formal education ended at 10, but Franklin was a dedicated reader and taught himself how to become a skilled writer and much later, an eloquent speaker.
