Fruit Infusion Recipes by Amy Pogue

All are for 32 ounces unless noted

Mandarin Orange
3 mandarin oranges or tangerines

Remove the rind and separate the mandarin slices with your fingers. It’s okay if the slices are in groups of two or three. Important: cut the slices in half with a knife. This will allow the juices to seep out and infuse.
Fill your water bottle and lower the infusion chamber into the water. Running water over the infusion chamber will result in floater.
Put the water bottle in the refrigerator for 4-8 hours, or overnight. Longer infusions result in more flavor. The longer the more flavor.

The Power of Fruit Infusion
by Micky Gramlin

Image result for detox water with lemon

This past Christmas, my Mother gave all of us a ‘fruit infusion pitcher’. Everyone seemed to appreciate getting the gift, but I had no idea what it was. Later at home I tried to find directions on how to use and found none so I just put it in the cabinet and forgot about it.

Of course, my Mother would have none of that. One day she showed up and made a batch for me. I was sold. Now I cannot live without it. I love the taste and the varieties of flavors you can get. I also like the fact that the pitcher can be refilled, depending on your personal tastes, an average of 5 times.

This morning I woke up wondering if there were any health benefits drinking ‘fruit infusion water’ and discovered yes, there were many and so I decided to pass the information on.

EXPLORE THE HEART OF AMERICA

Discover and Experience the Best Drive in the USA

“The Great River Road is arguably the longest and most important scenic byway in the USA.”

The Great River Road National Scenic Byway follows the course of the Mississippi River for 3,000 miles from northern Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico.

The scenic route passes through 10 states and hundreds of river towns. For most, the journey takes an average of 4 to 10 days. And for those driving straight through, it will take around 36 hours from north to south.

Created in 1938 from a network of federal, state, and local roads, the road forms a single route along the Mississippi north to south. When laid out, the road was designed to enhance and “show off” the 10 states along the Big Muddy from its headwaters to its mouth.

From the Delta to the Gulf Coast, you will experience some of the best food, culture and history as you make your way. Each state along the river offers something unique to the visitors. The Mississippi is the birthplace of the delta blues and as you wind your way thru this mystic river land, the beaches and the islands will play to you often.

ELIMINATING TOXINS
Is It Really That Important?
By
Micky Gramlin

“Very few individuals, if any, reach their potential maximum life span; they die instead prematurely of a wide variety of diseases--the vast majority being "free radical" diseases.” --Denham Harmon, M.D., Ph.D., who in 1954 first proposed the Free Radical Theory of aging

“Since the 1940s, over 3,000 chemicals have been added to your food supply and 10,000 chemicals are used for food processing. You ingest hundreds of pounds of food annually that are contaminated by these chemicals. In your lifetime through food you ingest, water you drink and bathe in, and air you breathe, you will consume 100 times the amount of pesticides, chemicals, life stock hormones, and preservatives than your grandparents did.”

Our detoxification system; colon, liver and kidneys: have not yet evolved enough to handle the level of toxins that we incur in our daily lives and diets. Your colon, liver and kidneys then become damaged and your body accumulates toxins and free radical damage.  You then must detoxify and eliminate these toxins and the free radicals that have built up so that you can restore harmony and balance back into your own body’s detox system.
